“Blessed are all who take refuge in him”. (Psalm 2:12) Bible Reading: Psalm 2
I am reminded of an old hymn by Kittie Suffield:
“God is still on the throne,
And He will remember His own;
Tho’ trials may press us and burdens distress us,
He never will leave us alone;
God is still on the throne,
He never forsaketh His own
His promise is true, He will not forget you,
God is still on the throne.”
It’s easy to forget this truth when we note with concern how evil and corruption seem to be on the increase. When the “nations conspire” and the “kings of the earth rise up” trepidation can soon threaten to replace confidence in the hearts of God’s children. However, be assured that our sovereign God is not taken by surprise, nor does He, with head in hand, wonder what to do next. From everlasting to everlasting He is God! Before the foundations of the world were laid, He had his redemptive plan in place. So, let the lion of rebellion roar, and the serpent of sedition hiss, but child of God, you take refuge in the Lord. He reigns supreme.
Prayer: King of kings and Lord of lords, you rule and reign supreme. Help me hold onto that truth, despite how chaotic things may seem.
