But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman…” (Galatians 4:4)
God sent His son..It’s His initiative! This “thing” we call peace and reconciliation..it begins with God. We see this in His action towards sinful humankind. You see, we could not get to Him; we had nothing to bring to the table of salvation, so He comes to us – He stoops down in kindness.
If we study the life of Christ, we will see that from beginning to end, His mission and ministry was marked with peace. Before He was born, he was given the title “Prince of peace” (Isaiah 9:6) At his birth, peace was the theme of the angelic song? Throughout His ministry, He preached peace. “He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near”(Ephesians 2:17). Of course, as we said, the ultimate price paid by the ultimate Peacemaker, was the giving of His own life on the cross, dying so that you and I can experience peace with God. Our God is a Peace-Making and a peace-loving God.
Prayer:
Precious Saviour, You are peace personified,
Love, grace and mercy in the flesh
May I in turn, be a channel of that peace,
So that others, Your forgiveness too, can refresh.
