Where do you feel a sense of belonging, and how can you nurture that connection this season? Belonging is a deep human need—one that reflects our design to be in relationship with God and one another. As we reflect on the nativity, we see belonging beautifully woven into the story. Mary and Joseph found refuge in a humble stable, surrounded by the warmth of animals. The shepherds and Magi, strangers to each other, were drawn together to witness the birth of Jesus, creating an unexpected community united by awe and worship.
Advent reminds us that we belong to God first. In His love, we also find a place among others—a family of faith, friends who journey alongside us, or communities where we feel seen and valued.
Belonging doesn’t require perfection; it requires presence and love.
If you feel disconnected this season, remember that God sees you and invites you into His family. And if you feel secure in belonging, ask yourself how you can extend that gift to someone else.

join a community group,
reach out to a friend, or
share time with someone who may also feel alone.
Remember, connection begins with showing up as you are.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for creating me to belong—to You and to others. Help me to find comfort in Your presence and to recognise the communities You have placed in my life. Show me how to extend love and belonging to those who feel unseen or alone this Advent season. Amen.
