“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life”John 3:16.
What does love look like when it’s more than just a feeling—when it becomes a choice or an action? Love is one of the most profound themes of Advent. It is not just a feeling but a deliberate choice to give, to serve, and to sacrifice.
God’s love for us was demonstrated in the greatest way—by sending His Son to live among us, to experience our pain, and to offer salvation.
This love wasn’t conditional or earned; it was freely given. As we reflect on the birth of Jesus, we are reminded of the depth of God’s love, a love that meets us where we are and calls us to love others in the same way.
During Advent, love invites us to look beyond ourselves and consider how we can share this gift. Whether through acts of kindness, forgiveness, or simply being present for someone in need, love is at the heart of the season.
Mental Health Moment
Acts of love and kindness are powerful for both the giver and receiver. Research shows that giving to others can reduce stress and improve mood. This Advent, practice intentional acts of love, even small ones—a kind word, a thoughtful gesture, or time spent with someone who feels alone.
Let’s Reflect
• How have you experienced God’s love in your life?
• What is one way you can show love to someone this week?
“Love is not what you say. Love is what you do.” Unknown
Prayer
Lord, thank You for the gift of Your unfailing love. Teach me to love as You do—with grace, generosity, and compassion. Help me to see the needs of others and to respond with a heart full of kindness. Let Your love flow through me this Advent season. Amen.
