John 14:27 (NIV):
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
What does peace look like in your life, and how can you invite more of it into this season? Peace is a gift that often feels elusive, especially during busy or challenging times. Yet, the promise of Advent is that God’s peace transcends all understanding.
The birth of Jesus brought peace into a troubled world—not the absence of conflict, but the presence of God’s assurance and love.
Imagine the stillness of the nativity scene: the quiet stable, the calm after the shepherds arrived. It wasn’t a perfect situation, yet it was filled with divine peace. Advent invites us to seek this same peace in our own lives, even when circumstances feel chaotic or uncertain.
Peace comes when we surrender control, trusting God to carry what we cannot. It grows when we focus on His presence rather than our problems. This season, take a moment to breathe deeply, pray, and let God’s peace settle into your heart.
Mental Health Moment
Inner peace starts with small, intentional practices. Try a 5-minute mindfulness exercise:
close your eyes,
take slow breaths, and
focus on the present moment.
Repeat the words, “God’s peace surrounds me” as you breathe. These moments of stillness can calm your mind and renew your spirit.
Let’s Reflect
• What is one area of your life where you long for peace?
• How can you create moments of stillness and invite God’s peace into your heart this Advent?
“Peace is not the absence of trouble, but the presence of Christ.”
